Taking a holistic approach to wellness
BC’s Best understands good nutrition is essential to optimal health.
Our pets, like the wild ancestors they evolved from, have adaptations
such as sharp teeth, acidic stomachs and short digestive tracts that have
allowed them to safely and efficiently eat raw meat for thousands of years.
In fact, for 99.9% of their time on earth, most cats and dogs survived
consuming “raw foods” in the form of prey animals and ‘table scraps.’
Wanting our pets to not just survive, but to thrive, our team
at BC’s Best understands that all pets are individuals and as such
will have different nutritional needs throughout their lifetimes.
While not advocating a strict meat-based raw diet for ALL cats
and dogs, we believe the integration of real biologically appropriate
foods into the diet of most pets will be extremely beneficial.
When foods are eaten whole, vitamins, minerals and other important
plant-(phyto-) nutrients act together in complex ways modern
science is only beginning to measure…
Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food.
—Hippocrates

BC’s Best Meats come from B.C. range-raised, grass-fed beef
and sheep and organically grown poultry. Free of artificial hormones and antibiotics, all animals are processed at licensed craft abattoir facilities close to where the animals are raised. This adds value to
high quality human grade meats that are currently being under utilized in BC while supporting humane animal production models.

essential for healthy joints.

Herbs used in BCs Best contain numerous antioxidants and
phyto-nutrients, which have been shown to have anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fugal, anti-parasitic and/or anti-inflammatory effects. Useful for supporting the immune system and digestive tract health, they also contain significant levels of many essential vitamins and minerals. Kale is considered one of the healthiest foods on the planet.
An excellent source of calcium, iron, manganese, potassium,
vitamins C and K, the plant is like a natural multi-vitamin, jam-
packed with antioxidants and cancer fighting phytonutrients
such as quercetin and sulforaphane. To top it off, it grows
well throughout most of BC and can be harvested year
round in temperate regions.

natural enzymes, antioxidants, and omega fatty acids!
Containing 2-30x the amount of concentrated nutrients
as their mature plant counterparts, sprouting brings seeds life, infusing them with vital nutrients and active enzymes. These
nutrient dense foods have been used for thousands of years
as medicine in cultures around the world. The ability to grow
them close to home, year round, means a big reduction
in our carbon footprint.

Flax seeds are an excellent source of antioxidants, fibre and
Omega 3 fatty acids which act as anti-inflammatories in the body.
High protein, moderate fat, low or no-carb diets–
the basis of all BC’s Best meals—are slowly becoming standard recommendations for animals fighting cancer. It is believed that many cancer cells need the sugars from the breakdown of carbohydrates to grow. Beyond this, a wide range of research is now showing the power of various plant compounds at blocking cancer cell growth. Broccoli and red clover sprouts, kale and parsley are some of the superstars in this arena currently included in BC’s Best meals.
